Savannah River Nuclear Solutions Donates $10,000 to First Tee of Aiken
AIKEN, S.C. --- Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS), who has been a major supporter of The First Tee of Aiken, wanted to show their appreciation to all those who volunteer in the program to help the youth of Aiken. They did so in a big way Saturday, Nov. 5 when they donated $10,000 to The First Tee of Aiken during the group’s annual Volunteer Appreciation Golf Tournament and Awards Banquet at Houndslake Country Club.
The First Tee of Aiken Board Chairman Steve Kisner thanked representatives of the company saying, “This is a wonderful gesture of support from one of the finest companies in the area. SRNS is heavily involved in the health of our community with the many employees who volunteer here and around Aiken and with the generous financial support they provide.”
“At The First Tee of Aiken, one of our favorite sayings is, “It’s all about the kids,” said The First Tee of Aiken Executive Director Elizabeth Smith. “This generous gift from SRNS will help us carry on our ambitious programs in support of the youth of Aiken.
Smith said The First Tee of Aiken will utilize the donated funds towards new equipment, updated facilities, and to help expand their programming.
"SRNS is proud to be a supporter of The First Tee of Aiken. This youth development program has been a successful collaboration among numerous volunteers from the public, the education community and local corporations. Together, we are building a stronger community by providing the young people in Aiken County a way to build character and instill life-enhancing values through the game of golf," said Clif Webb, SRNS Vice President of Corporate Communications.
